New York's premier ski resort, Whiteface Mountain boasts the highest vertical drop in the East at 3,430 feet and is ranked as the top ski resort in the Eastern US.

The mountain features 86 trails, 283 acres of terrain and off-piste double-black diamond wilderness terrain (The Slides). This is where the world's best come to train and compete and where kids come to learn and have fun. Whiteface is located just outside the village of Lake Placid, one of the best ski towns in the East. A daily shuttle runs between the town and the mountain.

The summit offers a 360-degree view of many of the other Adirondack peaks and on a clear day a view all the way to Canada and Vermont. Whiteface hosted the alpine skiing competition of the 1980 Winter Olympics and the area is still a training ground for athletes. In summer Whiteface Mountain offers gondola rides.

The average snowfall is around 168 inches per year plus 98% of the mountain trails are serviced by snowmaking. Season 2016-2017 had a record-breaking 281 inches of natural snowfall and 142 days of skiing and riding.
