Deer Mountain in the United States (South Dakota State) is a very small ski resort with just three ski lifts (2 chair lift, 1 surface lift) with only 198 metres (650 feet) of vertical descent. Deer Mountain has 700 acres of terrain over 45 trails. Deer Mountain is only really suitable for beginner and intermediate skiers and snowboarders.

Deer Mountain Ski Resort near Lead is home to the most powder accumulation in the Black Hills of South Dakota, averaging more than 200 inches of annual snowfall. A winter attraction for all, Deer Mountain offers downhill skiing and snowboarding (with equipment rentals) as well as a Zero Gravity Tube Park.
